ÖRUGG was responsible for the building’s fire safety design as well all overall safety design. Fire safety design and inherent calculations extend to the factory building as a whole, in order to ensure the best fire protection with regard to Ölgerðin's operations. This is a 1,700 square meter glue-laminated wood beams construction (glulam) i, with an investment cost well in excess of 1 billion ISK. Arkís are the architects of the extension, but the plumbing, electrical and load-bearing design is in the hands of Verkís. Beka ehf. has handled project management.
